Charity Work

Webhannet Golf Club has been a good and generous neighbor in the Kennebunks over the past several years.  Since 2011, the bi-annual Webhannet Charity Golf Classic Tournaments netted over $130,000 and these monies were donated to regional charities including Caring Unlimited, York County Shelter Programs, Community Outreach Services Food Pantry, Fuel Assistance and Snack Program, Seeds of Hope, Toys for Tots, Community Bike Center and the York County Child Abuse Center.

In 2014, the WCF received $15,842 from members and local residents, and donated a portion of those funds to Community Outreach Service Food Pantry, Caring Unlimited, the Waterhouse Center, Maine Children’s Cancer Foundation and the Community Bicycle Center.

The 2015 Webhannet Charity Classic One-Club Tournament is going to be held on Sunday, September 20th.  This year the proceeds raised will benefit the York County Food Rescue Holiday Turkey Program, Food 4 Thought School Back Pack Program, Community Outreach Services Fuel Assistance Program and the Webhannet Charitable Foundation.  If you are interested in playing in the 2015 Webhannet Charity Classic or in other Sponsorship Opportunities, please click on the links below.

If you know of a worthy cause that the WCF should consider or are interested in helping in our charitable efforts, please contact Susan Gilpatric (golfxl@aol.com), President, Beth Fossett (beth@lighthousedist.com), Secretary, Bob Davis (rmd@hmpayson.com), Treasurer, or Mike Condon (kportmike@yahoo.com), Event Committee Chair.

The Webhannet Charitable Foundation (WCF) was established in the Fall of 2011. The benefit of having charitable status is that it enables us to run golf tournaments and other fundraising events as a non-profit organization. The WCF also provides tax-exempt status and allows us to accept donations that are tax exempt to the donor.
