"Wooden tees were not yet in use (in 1912), so golfers molded tees from clay, sand and water available in stands. The teeing area for the first hole was soon moved to accommodate a baseball field. Seasonal dues in 1912 were $30, a daily playing ticket cost $1, and Club members could hold private parties in the clubhouse for $10. Card playing was allowed, but not for money." - from "Out of the Pasture", edited by Norman Ritter
